From AudioFile
Olson's debut novel begins slowly and then picks up the pace dramatically. Clearly written with THE DA VINCI CODE in mind, the story concerns Nazis and Greeks and an icon known as the Holy Mother of Katarini, which allegedly contains pieces of the blood-stained robe of Jesus. Eric Conger's reading parallels the story. At first, the listener wonders at his vocal lassitude, but he comes alive as the plot intensifies. While the conclusion is predictable, the story is entertaining, and Conger's reading, particularly during the climax, makes for a satisfying, albeit uneven, novel. I managed to get through the first CD-barely. The narrator's voice just didn't keep me interested enough to keep going. It did sound like an interesting story though, I just didn't want to fall asleep on the treadmill..maybe I should have tried listening to it in bed!

On its way to shaunesay.

Uh-oh, I listen to them while driving, so hope it doesn't put me to sleep! LOL! Seriously the reader makes all the difference, and everyone's tastes are different, so I'm interested to give this one a try. Thanks Cestmoi!

Just finished this one up this morning. I actually enjoyed the reader's voice, and may look for others he has done!

A thriller centered around a religious painting, that several different factions are willing to lie, steal and even kill to possess it. Some are motivated by money, some by the belief that it has healing power.

Thanks so much Cestmoi, I'll probably be offering this one back up in the Audiobox next round!

I got this back from my grandfather yesterday and he really enjoyed it. I think he's into the whole relic-type mystery. He said it was a bit like the Da Vinci Code, which is one of his favourite audios.
