I enjoyed the west coast (British Columbia) setting, the quirky (and occasionally violent) endings, and the intimate depictions of 1940s - 1960s domestic life. But overall I was eager for each of these stories to be over. Other people are clearly bigger fans of Alice Munro than am I.
