It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Resurrection Row

Book Synopsis:
What an odd sight! The dead body of a peer of the realm sitting upright in an empty hansom cab. He had been decently buried once before, Inspector Pitt knew. There was something terrible amiss. Despite doctor's claims of death by natural causes, Pitt insisted on serious digging to unearth the truth—even if it killed him.

received today from petfriday in AZ; when I'm done with it I would like to move it to another bookcrosser. Thanks, petfriday!!!
Another for mine and cestmoi's, thomas and Charlotte Pitt mystery series that we are sharing. Thank you quinnsmom.
Giving to cestmoi tomorrow and then I will read it after she is finished.
Well...this is the first one where Charlotte isn't the detective more so than Thomas. I enjoyed this one much more than the last one. And it was nice to see how Thomas interacts with his young daughter. No Emily in this one...in the last one she was about to have a baby..yet no mention of her at all in this story...and it seemed that Emily and Charlotte had finally become real friends (other than just sisters). I do like Aunt Vespasia though and her wit and spark really plays well against Thomas.
One thing that also puzzles me...there is never any mention of Charlotte's parents. She says they did not put up a big fuss that she married beneath her station...but she doesn't visit them...I wouldn't expect them to come to her! They have a grandchild and yet never see her?
It was nice to know what had become of Dominic Corde since The Cater Street Hangman and hopefully, we will see him again.
Oh yes..the mystery...it was very good. Kept me guessing :) The idea of someone moving dead bodies around in graves is so ironic and ridiculous but ingenious.
Again, lots of details about the period, in this novel - heavily on the workhouses and conditions of the poor.
Back to poohbear3 to enjoy!
Thanks to everyone before me for sharing this with us.

I am giving this back to cestmoi tomorrow to pass on to her father in law
Back to me again. I'm going to give this to a non-BC'ing friend who enjoys Anne Perry, along with a few others I have kicking about.
