Willis is a troubled boy with a short temper who has no liking for school and a strong will to be independent. Throughout the story, Willis lets his anger gets the best of him. But when he meets Buster, a homeless puppy, Willis learns how to soften his anger.

I don't like how Willis treats his younger sister Mary Lee. He also hates school, his father and working beyond necessity. I do like how he looks after Buster.

This book is a quick and easy read that many will enjoy. I will finish it today and eagerly pass it along.

I really like this book, but the ending is haunting. It is about a boy who is a troublemaker. He makes a strong connection with a stray dog and frees the dog from the pound. Just when the dog is about to change Willis's life something happens that makes Willis and his dog inseperable forever.
