This was in a box of books given to me by caffcaff.I will release it as soon as I can,and I hope whoever finds it enjoys reading it.

I took this at the BC christmas party. I've seen some of this on tv, so I was curious.

Finished the book. It was a really interesting travelogue. I would never to that kind of journey, but it was a great arm-chair trip for me. Naturally, the bits of Finland were extra interesting. :-) Now I'm sorry I didn't watch the whole Pole to Pole series in TV...

The timing of Palin's journey - May-November 1991 - was extraordinary as it turned out (I bet he had no idea when he was planning his trip!). Three weeks after his group had exited Soviet Union, the country ceased to exist. He also visited South Africa when apartheid had been demolished only four months ago.

I left the book in the BC-bookshelf in Little Britannia store.
