I adore this movie! I know the book is quite different, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it just the same. I've only read one other Nick Hornby novel, which I really enjoyed, and I'm looking forward to this one.
Bought second-hand from a charity shop; the back cover is coming off, but I'll try to repair it before releasing it.

So it turns out it's actually very similar to the movie, it's just the last few chapters which are (completely!) different. For the whole of the rest of the book it was so similar that often I could hear the actors' voices in my head where the lines are word-for-word exact.
Anyway, I loved it! It's hilarious and also poigant. Nick Hornby has a unique ability to have me giggling uncontrollably in one line and nodding sagely in the next. He has great insight into people and tremendous skill in sharing this insight in a way that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. I'll definitely be reading more by him in the future.
I'm passing this book on to a friend at work who I think will enjoy it. I hope she'll also write a journal entry here and pass the book on! :)
