He wants all papers of recorded Catholic history opened to the top leaders of Judaism & they will meet in the Vatican City to search all of the Archives there ! Strange things happen in Munich, Venice, Rome, & Tel Aviv where deaths to persons with high connections to the Church are found murdered, & that is just the starting of the backlash caused by the attempt to reconciliate !
All of this in just the 1st 85 pages, so I'll get back to you when I finish it !

Art restorer and Mossad secret agent, Gabriel Allon tries to help the new Pope solve the Church's involvment in the WWII Holocaust ! Some of the top Cardinals have a different idea of solving the Church's dilema, like elimanating the new Pope! Gabriel becomes very involved, somewhat like in 'Angels and Demons', a very involved, great read !!

I picked this up at the February BC meet-up. I already have one by this author on the TBR pile - I guess this one will join it.

For some reason this book is categorized as horror, but it's definitely mystery/thriller and not horror at all. That said, I rather enjoyed this book. The main characters are strong, interesting people trying to backtrack their way through the politics of 50 years ago. The author also simultaneously manages to neatly capture both the Jewish and the Catholic faith, something that is rarely seen. Other things kept interrupting this book, but I had trouble putting it down when I had time to pick it up. I shall definitely keep my eye out for this author now - I love gaining another author to look for in the bookstore!
