These Gideon New Testaments have now been replaced by a newer edition. The Bible is the most amazing, life-changing collection of books you will find anywhere. Even 'though this does not include the whole collection, it is still worth having, and has the advantage of being a small volume that will easily fit in a briefcase or rucksack. If you haven't yet read any of the sixty-six or so books of the Bible - and many people haven't, despite it being the most famous collection of books ever published and consistently the world's best-seller not only year on year but month on month - you couldn't hope for a better way to start. I'd suggest you begin with Mark's Gospel, which is the shortest of the four, and take it from there.

In a somewhat unorthodox move I am registering fifteen copies under the same identity number. The plan is to leave the bulk of them in one place and to see where they go from there.

Planning to leave them on Morning Star the next time I go sailing.

Morning Star usually sails out of Chatham in Kent but is occasionally seen in other harbours in the UK or taking part in the Tall Ships' Race.

The last time I was on Morning Star (April 2008), all of these had disappeared. It's intriguing to think where they could be. As hardbacks they should survive fairly well, so I'm looking forward to other "catches" soon, but it would be good to be able to fill in some of the gaps. The first one (journalled above) simply appeared in Plymouth, on the Greenbank OBCZ shelf. I wonder how it made it's way there...
