UPHILL ALL THE WAY is a book about recovery. Judith is recovering from losing her younger lover, her life in Malta and most of her money, Adam from losing three fingers, two homes and one wife.

Synopsis
When 51 year old Judith lost Giorgio, she lost her life in Malta - joy, love, her income, her own space, and her circle of friends. She even lost the view from her sun-warmed balcony of the sparkling blue waters of Sliema Creek. And, she discovered, she'd lost most of her money, too. What she gained, back in England, was a bed in her sister's spare room in chilly Northamptonshire where she'd been brought up, and a whole host of difficulties and family problems. But a road that's uphill all the way can bring exhilarating views. It can be fulfilling, too, and a lot easier when you find someone who wants to travel it with you.

I was convinced this book was gunna be sooooo predictable when i finished chapter 4.... How wrong could i be!!!! lol

Sad in places, but heartwarming in others, this did feel like a "romance" but, with a lot more depth. Not the wishy washy type you usually come across.

I loved the setting (Malta) and am inspired to add it to my list of future holiday destinations.

I really bonded with the characters, but did start to get irritated by Judiths lack of commitment to Adam.....i'm glad she made the right decision in the end though ;o)

Offering this up as a Ring..... You know the rules, 1 month please ;o)

A nice easy read which I got through very quickly. It held my interest the whole way through because of the twists and turns which kept me wanting to know what happened next. Rather unrealistic I felt, with characters that were a bit too nice but none the less another great Transita book.

Thanks for sharing. Will be with calalilly asap.

It is two weeks since a Bookring or ray arrived so I was very pleased to see the postman with not one but two parcels for me today! At least the lack of rings/rays has given me a chance to read some of the ever growing Mt TBR. I will start this as soon as I have finished my current book. reading the previous reviews it looks like it will be another great offering from Transita. Thanks Angelchild for this and for the bookmarks, which will be distributed widely.

Senior Chick Lit!By that I mean the heroine is over 40 for a change, refreshing. This should not be a surprise as it is published by Transita, one of their bylines is something about giving heroines and writers of 45+ a voice. This is not a criticism, it is an enjoyable easy romantic read and within this genre very good. The story is realistic and the characters are well portrayed, plus Malta sounds wonderful. An excellent first novel and I will certainly look out for more of this authors work.

En route to Mallary in France

Journal Entry 13 by Mallary from Ginestas, Languedoc-Roussillon France on Monday, June 11, 2007
This arrived on Saturday (thanks LindyLouMac) but I was in bed with bronchitis so I couldn't register it. Didn't stop me starting it though! What a great story so far - I am about three-quarters of the way through and I haven't been able to put it down.
Amazing what you can achieve when you're stuck in bed for 3 days (oops! not THAT, I meant READING!!) I managed nearly two whole Transitas! It means I can post them off much sooner than usual. Do I send this back to you AngelChild when I've finished?

Finished! I really enjoyed this book, although I found it hard to like the heroine, Judith. I don't know what it was, I just didn't warm to her. Adam was a saint though and Judith's relationship with Kieren was wonderful. I found it difficult to empathise with her over Giorgio as I felt we didn't have enough time at the beginning to get to know him, so I didn't really miss him when he was gone. It's a shame because in other books when a character has died I've been moved to tears over the loss and the pain that their loved ones are feeling. I felt nothing for Giorgio.
Good book though! On it's way home soon....
