49 journalers for this copy...
Journal Entry 1 by MarcoWeb64 from Livorno, Toscana Italy on Saturday, January 18, 2003
This diary is "book in progress" written by anyone who gets it.

The idea of a "running diaries" is from an italian bookcrosser (screename gcielo) who released 3 of them in Italy ("I pensieri dei bookcorsari #1, #2, #3") and thay are still circulating.
Two of them (#2 and #3) are in high position in the most travelled book's list.

A friend bookcrosser from Nederland (screename imdo) saw them and asked me for information and we had the idea of an EuroBookCrossing Diary ... so here we are with this little book.

Write on it anything you want and pass it on to some other bookcrosser, in your country or in another (it could be nice if this diary could cross a borderline as often as possible)... and do not forget your journal entry.

Good writing and have a nice book.

During our meet up, BCers from Tuscany wrote something to european BCers.

Journal Entry 10 by Willemijn from Deventer, Overijssel Netherlands on Wednesday, February 5, 2003
I thought this book would miss me, since I left early from the first BC meeting last week. However, it was in the mail today! I'll make an appropriate contribution and then pass it on. To Portugal, I think!

Journal Entry 11 by Willemijn from Deventer, Overijssel Netherlands on Tuesday, February 11, 2003
This - along with some pictures - is my contribution.

My (screen)name is Willemijn. I'm from Deventer, the Netherlands. I'm a bookcrosser for nearley half a year now. It's a bit dramatic to state that it has changed my life. But it has :-) For the better!
I have always read a lot of books and I thought I couldn't just give them away. Now it has become ever so easy. And rewarding!
Thanks to Rubyblue, who has a gift for making people enthousiastic, I sought contact with the press. The regional newspaper did an interview on bookcrossing, I was on national television and I spoke to a BBC-word journalist. Great fun!
I love swapping books with people from all over the word. I made some splendid contacts with crossers in Germany, Portugal, US and Canada. Leaving a book on a bench in a train and have it found has the same quality, however.
Let's keep it up!

Journal Entry 12 by Willemijn at on Tuesday, February 11, 2003
Released on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at letter box of fellow bookcrosser in Lisbon, Lisbon Portugal.

I hope this comes as a surprise to you, Mady!
I'm sure you will contribute and send the diary on it's way again. To Germany, perhaps?

Journal Entry 13 by mady from Reading, Berkshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, February 18, 2003
Got this book today on the mail (thanks a lot Willemijn). It was't quite a surprise since I was asked several times if I'd already got the book by previous signers and other persons interested in this book :) This is turning quite nice :) I plan to sign it very soon and take it with me to my trip to Spain where I'll meet another bookcrosser. Then I'll try to organize a small meeting here in Lisbon with other Portuguese BCers that are interested in signing & reading this book.

On the pic you can see Atenea-Nike and me holding the book :)

Journal Entry 14 by Atenea-Nike on Friday, February 21, 2003
I've just received this book (well, I received it this morning, at 4:45 am) from the hands of Mady from Portugal, who's come to spend a few days here. I have already added my own journal entry, with a photo of Vitoria, my hometown.
I have enjoyed seeing the "real" handwriting of many fellow european bookcrossers, and reading about their successful meetings has made me feel very envious.
In my entry I simple stated how BooKCrossing has made my life better, not only for the adrenaline/serendipity rush of releasing and catching books, etc, but also for the sense of community, of a common love for books that overcomes (most of the time) all other possible differences.
I hope this little book travels far far away, and I want to thank Marco for starting it.

Another link in the Euro Diary chain...
Just a thought, stollen from "Six degrees of separation": Are all the BXers in the world connected by chains of BXers with no more than 6 links between each 2 BXers?

É realmente uma emoção escrever o meu nome na história do Bookcrossing. Espero fazê-lo ainda mais vezes no futuro e ler muitas mais mensagens de leitores europeus.
Um abraço,

It's really thrilling to be able to write my name in Bookcrossing history. I hope to do it again many times in the future and also to read many more stories and messages from european readers.

Journal Entry 51 by wingAnneliswing from Kerava, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Thursday, November 6, 2003
The day of the monthly Bookcrosser meeting came at last. As I have got the possession of this diary, I decided to travel to Tampere - two hours by train. Well, I made some mistakes in timetables and changing trains and had to walk around Järvenpää for an hour, but at Tampere I arrived in time. Finding the right pub was the easy part of the task.

Journal Entry 52 by wingAnneliswing from Kerava, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Thursday, November 6, 2003
There were 10 of us at the meeting. We had a good time chatting and talking about books and bookcrossing. Many a book got a new reader again.
I only hope we bookcrossers living in Helsinki region can arrange meetings, too!
By the way, isn't it the picture of James Joyce hanging behind us?

Journal Entry 53 by Monke from Tampere, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Friday, November 7, 2003
I got to have a look of the book (and write a few words, of cource) in our meeting in Tampere. I didn't have much time with the book so I didn't get to read everything in it. It was fun though and I would have liked to listen the CD. :)

Journal Entry 54 by chirel from Tampere, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Friday, November 7, 2003
I skimmed through the book. I hope I could have had more time to really read the entrys. The book gave me such a nice feeling of being connected.

Journal Entry 67 by Suskiin from Barcelona, Barcelona Spain on Saturday, January 31, 2004
Thanks to Gyd, this EuroBookCrosser Diary was yesterday in the unofficial meet-up of january (we celebrate two meet-ups a month, because we miss these meetings a lot and a whole months is too much time). The group met at Mauri Snack-Bar in the Eixample quarter and we were around 25 BXers! I sure don't remember all the names but some people around there were: Die-Spinne, Littlejunior2, Carax, Kub, -Lia-, RaquelC, Chamorro, Lupina, Marsalvador, Anamapola, TuXo, Orangequeen, Legionario, Gertrudis, Sua, Pirilampa, Neila, Enerby, Garson and myself.
I just received the book that same afternoon and Garson took it to me in the way to the meet-up, so I hadn't been able to read anything, just check the book was into the envelope and it is really a little and especial jewel!
On the night, after the meet-up and the dinner for a few BXers, I was reading these traveler pages although I was dying for sleep! Really gorgeous!
Well, the book will be travelling to Atenea-Niké in a few days with the little entry of this group of crazy BXers in Barcelona.

Note of late: Carax has published in the spanish forums the list of attendants to the meet-up. I just forgot a few BXers: ElAficionado and Cucafera.
A last thing: yesterday it was -Lia-'s Birthday and we celebrated it during the meet-up!

Journal Entry 68 by Atenea-Nike on Tuesday, February 24, 2004

thanks so much to athena-nike from spain for sending me this little gem. my apologies to her, because i didn't register it on bookcrossings right away (i have been sick in bed all week with a virus). I was unable to go to the May Meetup in Vienna, because I was invited to the Peter Gabriel concert for my birthday. However, there should be nothing impeding me from going to the June meetup in a few weeks to share with everyone and have them sign it and add our VIENNA BOOKCROSSERS group picture.

thanks again for sending it my way. record shows the journal was in vienna back in september, and our group has grown, so i'm sure they'll all be excited to have it in our temporary possession again!!! I think after the next few people on the list receive the journal, it will be time to start a new one, because this one only has a few pages left!

i am taking this tonight to pickwick's for our june 2004 meetup here in vienna, so i can take a group picture, and then i will send the book on its way next week!

Here's the waiting list for the EuroCrossers Book Journal:

+ Amator (Portugal)

+ SudoKris (Germany)
+ Ringelchen (Germany)
+ Nordie/Sorchi (Ireland)
+ EdoM (Italy)
+ NinaButterfly
+ poLlibra (Poland)
+ IrasCignavojo (GermanY)

nota bene: there are only a few blank pages left in this journal. i want you to know that there will not be enough room for everyone remaining on the list to write something in there. anyone interested in starting a new one? if anyone else is considering signing up, PLEASE keep this in mind and let me know if you want to receive the book anyway just to look through.

thanks! (june 21, 2004--book will be shipped out soon to astrologer in ireland)

The little book safely made it to Scotland. Thanks Sudokris for passing it on. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Maybe we should send it to our Primeministers, Presidents and Chancellors so they get a real grasp of United Nations ??? I will take the book along to the Edinburgh Bookcrossers meet up next week and then send it on its way again.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

Update June 14 - more PMs sent to ben3000, still no reply, profile looks pretty 'dead' too. Sender address was on original envelope but it was never returned to me (in case I was given wrong address) so can at this stage only assume ben300 received book but stalled the ring * buhu* Apologies to everyone who was still expecting this cool little book.

Trying to find the book...
kinedi, since you have a name and an address, have you ever tried www.telefonbuch.de to check, if the address is registered and correct? Not everybody is listed there though.
What a pitty.
