The blurb on the back makes it sound like a cheap romance, but this is actually quite good and slightly reminiscent of Forster's A Room With a View. Interestingly, Von Armin turns out to be Katherine Mansfield's cousin, and apparently her children were tutored, among others, by E.M. Forster himself. A fun little read.
