Poirot's Early Cases
2 journalers for this copy...
A collection of Hercule Poirot short stories. It's a British paperback edition from Fontana, published in 1974. The cover is white with a picture of a bee clambering over a couple of ... rubies, or pieces of glass cut to resemble rubies, more likely. :-)
An update will follow once I've read the book.
I got this book at a store called Askeladden in Sandvika outside Oslo on Thursday, December 7th, 2006. They had a great sale - a whole plastic bag full of used books for only 100 NOK. (About $15.) Of course I had to get one. :-) I managed to get 28 books in my bag - not bad. ;-)

The blurb:
'If you have nostalgia, prepare to wallow in it now: with eighteen vintage Poirot tales, stretching from that mysterious affair of the Victory Ball on into the golden age of the whodunit era.'
Oxford Mail
Hercule Poirot, the greatest detective of the twentieth century, begins his celebrated career - solving the mysteries of
the stabbing at the Victory Ball
the vanishing Clapham Cook
the thief who left a Double Clue
the curse on the Lemesurier Inheritance
the murder on the Plymouth Express
and thirteen more baffling cases.
'Excellent - snug, ingenious and remarkably satisfying.'
Edmund Crispin, Sunday Times'

I've decided against reading this book since I've realized that I've already read every single Poirot story in a one-volume edition a few years ago. With the size of Mt TBR at the moment I can't be spending time rereading things. ;-) Although of course these stories are all brilliant and I hope someone else out there will want to read it. :-)
