Journal Entry 2 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Friday, December 15, 2006
This was really good! I loved being able to read about Lily Bard and the town of Shakespeare again and can't wait to read the next one in the series. I am really looking forward to seeing how things turn out with Jack!

This book will be going on a trip as a Bookring. It will be part of a Book sprial for the whole series. This is book number 2.

------------------------------

Please make a journal entry as soon as you recieve the book and also when you send it to the next person. Then we know where the book is!

Please try and read and send this book on within a month. If you need longer please make a new journal so we know the book is still in action!

When you are finished with the book please PM the next person on the list and ask for their address so you can send it on to them!

I would appreciate a PM from any participant who wants to leave the ring or be skipped for any reason. Please do not leave it to the last minute.

Also let us know what you thought of the book but don't give too much away!

The order may change to accommodate for the postal preferences of the ring members.
Lastly if you have nicer bookcrossing labels or stickers then decorate the book a little! Also stick a postcard from your country in with a message! Could be fun :)

Journal Entry 4 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Monday, January 15, 2007
Well, all I can say is that for a woman trying to live a quiet life? Ms Bard needs to try harder! Blimey, she took a real beating in this novel, physically and emotionally, but things seem to be on the up in her love life anyway :)
Finished today, will try to start the next novel - Shakespeare's Christmas (bk 3) tomorrow. Have PM'd Sunlightbub today for her addy and hopefully will be able to post off on Wednesday to her.

I'm such a dork!

I took this book with me to my mum's two weekends ago. I put it in my bag( so I thought) to bring home nd then couldn't find it. Both Mum and I turned our houses upside down looking for it. Eventually I ordered a replacement copy from Amazon that came yesterday, and just as I knew would happen the darned thing turned up today!!
Anyway, I finished it last night and have now started the next one..so huge apols for the delay in geting them both moving again.

I actually prefer book 2 to book 1, and book 3 has started well too.

Jack doesn't do it for me, but I'm gload he's making Lily happy. ( I feel I'm investing too much in fictional characters now!!!)

Journal Entry 8 by leeny37 from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Monday, March 5, 2007
Received today, along with its companion book, thanks! :)

Journal Entry 9 by leeny37 from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Friday, March 16, 2007
I thought this book is much better than the first. The first was more like a teaser and set up the scene of things to come. The story is much meatier in this book and I really enjoyed it. I wished I had read book 2 right after book 1, I think I would probably enjoy Shakespeare's Landlord a lot more that way. I think it would also have helped me follow the story better in Shakespeare's Champion as my memory is a bit hazy about what happened in the first of the series. Still, this was a great read and I'm looking forward to book 3!

Ahhh...Ms Harris. Her books are such a joy to read. I just finished this one and plan on reading the next in the series as soon as I leave the computer. Once they are both read, I will send them to Cherie.

Edit April 18: Sent by air today

Journal Entry 13 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Thursday, April 26, 2007
Books 2 and 3 of the Lily Bard series arrived on Saturday, while I was in Charleston at the BC convention, along with another Stephanie Plum book from NeedSun.

Since I'd put a lot of my owed and ring books on hold in order to get stuff read to bring to the convention, it may be a month or so before I can start on these.

Journal Entry 14 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Sunday, June 17, 2007
This is the second book in the Lily Bard Mystery series. I'm really beginning to like Lily cuz she kicks ass! :P Granted, I may not always agree with her "need to be alone" attitude but I can understand where it comes from. Like the other reviewers, I liked this one a bit more than the first one as there was definitely more action here, and more setup there.

Will be headed out to krin shortly, along with Shakespeare's Christmas, as soon as I hear back from her.

UPDATE 20-JUN-2007: Mailed Shakespeare's Champion and Shakespeare's Christmas to krin on 6/20/07 via Media Mail.

Journal Entry 16 by krin511 from Olney, Maryland USA on Tuesday, June 26, 2007
I agree with those who said that Lily sure doesn't have a quiet, restful time in this book! I liked how all the events come together in the end.

I'll start reading the next book tomorrow.

going to Maurean

Journal Entry 20 by Maurean from Atlantic Beach, Florida USA on Saturday, July 21, 2007
This arrived here in Florida. I'm currently in the middle of two other books (neither of which are short stories, so two-at-a-time is this girls limit!) but I will get to this ASAP and journal once I'm thru.

Thanks for sharin' these, Amberkatze, I'm looking forward to them!

Journal Entry 21 by Maurean from Atlantic Beach, Florida USA on Tuesday, July 31, 2007
Finished this today; I have to concur with the previous readers that this is, indeed, even better than the first installment. Now, off to start the Christmas tale...(we're having 90* temps here, so perhaps the story will help me think "cool thoughts". LoL)

Sorry for the delay...explorer has asked to be skipped, so this (and Shakespeare's Christmas) is on its way to SandDanz in today's (8/17) mail.

Journal Entry 22 by SandDanz from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Monday, September 10, 2007
I forgot to journal these upon arrival, but they are here safe and sound. I finished reading #1 in this series (Shakespeare's Landlord) over the weekend so I'll be starting on Shakespeare's Champion today!

Thanks for sharing!

Journal Entry 23 by SandDanz from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Sunday, September 16, 2007
Yet another great Harris book! This book ended up more interested than I had assumed it would from the prologue as it ended up being based around a much bigger problem then just one murder. Again, Harris continues with a lot of character advancement (though I've also come to terms with the fact that Lily is quite the little nympho... LOL!!!) I do like the "new guy" though. I think he's much better than Marshall and Claude. I can't wait to find out what becomes of him come book 3. Shakespeare's Christmas, which I will be starting VERY soon!

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
