8 out of 10

When Isabel's niece, Cat, asks Isabel to run her delicatessen while she attends a weddng in Italy, At the shop, Isabel meets Ian, who is haunted by visions of a man he comes to believe must be the murdered donor of his transplanted heart. Meanwhile, Cat's romantic reject find his way to the shop. That makes two mysteries of the heart to be solved - just the thing for Isabel Dalhousie.

I was expecting a mystery, and the story was a bit disappointing in that aspect as there was not much of a mystery to solve. However, without that pretense, the story itself is delightful and the characters interesting. I can see why this series is so popular.

Picked up at the library booksale for rootmartin.

This was such a fun book! I really enjoyed it, and in fact, I found it far more satisfying than the first book in this series.

Thanks, azuki, for picking this up for me. It was a delightful read!

Just finished this book today and it was a delightful book to read. I love reading about Edinburgh, Scotland and the peaceful life that the main character, Isabel Dalhousie has there. I also enjoy reading the simple yet thought-provoking way that Isabel ponders philosophical issues. I also like the character and integrity of the main character and other characters in the book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book arrived to Prague yesterday, as one which tabby-cat-owner so kindly offered to send me. I have longed to read this for awhile, as I have already enjoyed some of author´s other books. I guess this time while reading I have to have some chocolate instead of rooibos-tea...? Thank you very very much tabby-cat-owner!!

It took me some to read this book, as I only later understood that this is actually the second part of a serie. But thanks to the wonderfulness of bookcrossing, I got to read the part one as well.

After the holidays I was really looking forward for this book, to spend some time with Isabel again. I somehow really enjoy the atmosphere of the books, it is like a pleasant trip elsewhere - makes you respect again little pleasures of life. This book was though bit too much friends and lovers, too little of chocolate for my taste. I am already tired of Jamie and solving it, much more interested in other aspects of the story. And hungry for more...
