A Song for Arbonne

Kay doesn't just create a world in this "fantasy" novel, he creates intricate relationships between people, magic, politics, love, duty and history. This book is an experience.
I am told that I MUST read this book and like it ;)
I liked this book because of the interesting paths the plot took, although I did find that it took me about one-third of the book to figure out what the main story was supposed to be about. Although this is only the 2nd book by this writer that I've read, I'm really enjoying how his characters and how they communicate. I love Kay's language and phrasing, especially when he's describing scenery or something off in the distance. I found the various conflicts in the book interesting, especially how they intertwined with each other.
The one thing I'd have to say I didn't like was there was too much "lovey-dovey" stuff, although there were lots of rockin' battle scenes to balance things out ;)
Reserved for the UK/Canada book swap.
