Sent to Stubee for his birthday RABCK! Enjoy! (I know my husband also likes the movie V for Vendetta and read a few of the comics.)

A truly remarkable piece of work from Moore and Lloyd – it’s unlike any other graphic novel that I’ve read and the themes throughout the story are more sophisticated than the norm from Marvel and DC Comics and tries to move away from the popular American Superhero comic that everyone has become used to.

It’s very British and in some ways it reminds me of the world created by George Orwell in his novel 1984. The use of Guy Fawkes, the quoting of Shakespeare the use of the Latin [“Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici”] are all little intricacies in this story that makes this well worth reading. A great (graphic) novel, one that I think breaks the mould. I’ve also recently got a copy of Alan Moore’s (& Dave Gibbons) Watchmen which I’m looking forward to reading.

Thanks Adrienne10 for this lovley Birthday RABCK - I'm sorry it's taken me so long to read it.

Next Up: Alasdair Gray - Lanark (1001 book)
