Come on, admit it. Once or twice you have thought of skipping the holidays, going to sleep (hibernate in mid-Oct) and waking up in January. Skip the stress of the holidays. Not having to deal with the people you are forced to see in Nov. and Dec.
What I wouldn't give for a cruise like the one the Kranks are going on..... er... attempting to go on. Funny story, great ending.

Journal Entry 5 by HeresDeb from Grayslake, Illinois USA on Monday, January 29, 2007
I've read the book and I wasn't that crazy about it. Without giving too much away to the future bookring recipients, I just found it to be depressing and unrealistic. Maybe Grisham was trying to be funny, but I just felt sorry for the main characters and they way they were treated.

I'm still glad I read this, but I much prefer Grisham's more serious fare.

This showed up in my mailbox today. I will bump it up to the top of my reading list.

Journal Entry 10 by brewski from Markham, Ontario Canada on Sunday, April 15, 2007
This was a quick read, well, once I wrested it out of my formerly-Grisham-crazy wife's hands. By the way she thought the book was just okay...not great, not horrible. She is not an active BookCrosser despite my evangelizing, so I thought I would add her thoughts on the book in my journal entry. She said she would only give it a 6/10.

I actually agree with my wife on her assessment, this book is mildly entertaining. It is somewhat of a departure from Grisham's usual subject matter, which gives it a certain freshness. However it was just okay.

I will send it on to the next BookRay recipient, Amarula40 this week.

What a fun read! I can picture Tim Allen in this role, as well. I am sure the movie was as amusing as the book. Enjoyable read - am sending it on to a fellow bookcrosser.
