Journal Entry 1 by Erishkigal from Salt Lake City, Utah USA on Saturday, November 25, 2006
Cover: Nearly two centurie after the starship Phoenix disappearred into the heavens, leaving an isolated colony of humans on the world of the atevi, it unexpectedly returns to orbit overhead, threatening the stability of both atevi and human governments. Invader picks up immediately where left off. Still, the first fifth or so of this one moved very slowly(for me), I found myself impatient with the explanations of what I already know/understand from "Foreigner." I suppose that is because it is complex, and initially readers had to wait a couple of years between books, hence needing the refresher. Just as I was really doubting my excitement over sending this out as a spiral, Cheeryh decided her readers were sufficiently back in the groove, the pace picked up, and I was back to being utterly involved and unable to stop reading!! Will get this on the way to TracyShannon--hopefully within the week. edited to add in the revised order: TracyShannon----Germany soleille--------Germany vexter----------Slovenia eicuthbertson---Canada efs300----------NH, US BooksnBeer------VA, US rebeccajames----OH, US<---here buocl----------OH, US BMCOA----------- US colebear--------FL, US tammysavala-----MO, US ctpete----------WA, US chevygoddess----CA, US erishkigal------UT, US

Journal Entry 3 by TracyShannon from El Paso, Texas USA on Thursday, January 04, 2007
Wow! I love this series. There's quite a cliffhanger at the end of this book. At times, the sentence structure of the author is hard to follow. However, she has created a believable world with extremely likeable characters. I am looking forward to book 3! ETA: PM'd soleille on 04 Jan 07 for her address. I didn't keep it when I mailed out the first book. ETA: Mailing to soleille tomorrow 29 Jan 07.

Much as I loved the first book, even after several tries I just couldn't get into any of the sequels - so they are now both finally off to vexter!

Huh, I wasn't expecting this! :)) Our government is sending out tax reports these days, so when I got a notice from my post office, I could only worry about my taxes! I must admit that getting this is much better than getting a tax report. ;) Thanks for reviving this spiral!

Journal Entry 7 by vexter from Ljubljana, Osrednja Slovenija - Okolica Ljubljane in Ljubljana Slovenia on Thursday, April 17, 2008
What can I say but: great! It's even better than the first book. It made me miss my bus stop, sneak off to read during my breaks at work and cook while holding the book in one hand. :)) I resent the cliffhanger at the end, but it's a good thing I have the third book already. :D Also, some of the relationships between the characters are developing in a very interesting way, and I can't wait to find out what happens! Thank you so very much for sharing this, Erishkigal! I've PMed eicuthbertson and am waiting for reply.

Well, I enjoyed this (and "Interior" too). C.J. Cherryh is still one of my favourite authors. This book will be on its way to efs300 tomorrow or Friday, I hope. Thanks, everyone.
