This is a fascinating look at life on board a ship sailing from Ireland to New York in 1847, and the stories of its passengers. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about a period of history I wasn’t familiar with, and I liked the way the story was revealed through a variety of sources and different viewpoints. The way things were wrapped up was a little too convenient, I thought, but for me that was a minor niggle in an otherwise great read.
found this book on a table at Elephant House on 30th March during my holidays. Look forward to read it...
