I've been working my way through the Cadfael books for years and now my parents have given me a job lot of their books to release as they don't want to keep them anymore so this is the start of a trickle of Cadfael to follow.

I like my historical whodunnits, and haven't read any Cadfael yet, so look forward to giving this a go.

A really good read. Cadfael is a great character with a good mixture of characteristics from lots of other fictional detective - a little bit of Holmes, a little bit of Miss Marple and of course there are echoes of Name of the Rose because of the abbey setting. Very readable.

Will probably take to next Leeds Meetup.
