Journal Entry 1 by hyphen8 from Honolulu, Hawaii USA on Thursday, November 09, 2006
1944 Newbery Award winner. Johnny Tremain is a promising young silversmith living in Boston during the period leading up to the American Revolution. He experiences some dramatic changes in his life but also gets involved with a number of the important figures of the time. Historical fiction as a coming-of-age story. This copy has been retired from a school library collection and is a bit battered (mostly the cover) but still very readable. I'm thinking of releasing this for Veteran's Day.. Edit 2013: this probably isn't the right cover image but it's better than the generic one.
