It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

Interesting tale about a young woman in England in the 1760s. Emma Donoghue has based this tale upon the sketchy details of an actual person in history-- Mary Saunders who died at 16 or 17 years of age. What few details she's found have had a wonderful story added to it.
I found the story a bit depressing though.
Will place this book in the book basket at work tomorrow morning.

Guess this ended up in a spring cleaning bookbox because that's where I found it. I'm liberating it from the box. I have a feeling I just read about this book somewhere and it looks really interesting.

I enjoyed this book. It's exactly what historical fiction should be -- a fast and interesting plot, thoroughly developed characters, and terrific details of setting and time period. While the book won't likely be one that I'll rush to buy another copy of to share with someone else, I'd definitely recommend it within the historical fiction genre.

I'm sending it to zosime, who picked it from the VBB.
