Rebecca

Daphne DuMaurier was considered one of Britain's greatest authors. This was the second that I read. I did enjoy it but preferred My Cousin Rachel. The movie was very good also. It was directed by Alfred Hitchcock as most of her books made into movies were.
thanks so much for sending this over, queenreader! Will journal again when I've finished reading!
Definitely a classic! DuMaurier has a great writing style. I just wanted to live in a lovely British mansion by the sea! I'm glad I read this, however I wanted more of an ending to it! Luckily I have the "sequel" to it, so I'll read that at some point.

Was told I must read this one now! So I did. I really enjoyed it. Had seen the movie, and the part I remembered most barely plays in the book. Doesn't mean I didn't like the book. Very well written, good characters.
