DianeLawton, her twin brother Jason and their friend Tyler Dupree, are out stargazing. Thus they witness the erection of a planet-spanning shield around the globe, blocking out the universe. Spin chronicles the next thirty years in the trio's lives, during which 300 billion years will pass outside the shield, thanks to an engineered time discon-tinuity.

very interesting, intelligent speculative fiction, with enough humanity/ character development to appeal to mainstream fiction readers, too. I'm going to share with a friend who reads fast and it will be avl. soon.

Thank you, cherylllr, for the RABCK! I've been wanting to read this for some time and hopefully it won't sit on Mt. TBR for too long.

I really enjoyed this speculative fiction. The ideas were great and the science wasn't so thick that I had a hard time following. The character development was outstanding, which I've noticed is rare for speculative fiction. I very much enjoyed the opportunity to read this outstanding book and I'll share it with my local bookcrossers' group at our next meet-up.

Released at the Jax Bookcrossers meeting last night. I know someone took it home.

This was a bit hard for me to read because one of the main characters has a "fictionalized" version of MS and my daughter was just diagnosed with it. However, I enjoyed the plot and the characters were worth worrying about. At least the hopeful ending was uplifting! The science about and theory of "others" who can interact, or not, with us is also food for thought!

(I'll bring this back to our May meeting and give it to RidingReader who thinks her husband will want to read it.)
