Another one I snatched for release or trade. I haven't read it, but I hear it is good...

From the Publisher
Controversial painter Elaine Risley returns from Vancouver for a retrospective of her work. Here, in Toronto, the city of her youth, she confronts the submerged layers of her past - her unconventional family, her eccentric and brilliant brother, the self-righteous Mrs. Smeath, and the two men Elaine later came to love in diverse and sometimes disastrous ways. But it is the enigmatic Cordelia, once her tormentor, then her best friend, whose elusive yet powerful presence in her life Elaine finally comes to understand. The realm of childhood and growing up, with its secrecies, cruelties, betrayals, and terrors, has never been so brilliantly evoked. By turns disquieting, humorous, compassionate, haunting and mordant, Cat's Eye is vintage Atwood.

What a loooooong journey! Almost 3 months to the day!!! (I so wish I could have been travelling with it!)
:-)

Thank you so very much for the opportunity to read a book from my wishlist, arugh48187!
Till now I loved every single book I read from this author, therefore I hope this one will keep up the great "scores"!!!
I won't be able to pick it up just now and it will climb Mount TBR and stay there for a while for I have so many other "previous engagements" at the moment!... But I'm looking forward to it. Will journal again as soon as I read it.

After several try-outs I finally decided to let it go. This is the first Margaret Atwood I'm not able to get through with.
I can't really explain why, it just doesn't keep me reading. But of course it is very well written and I do wonder what's the matter with it...

Anyhow, it's time I get a better destination than my shelf!

I simply forgot about this book! (bad Meg, bad Meg!) I was cleaning up my shelves and remembered that I had never made a JE for this one. Well, another book for a TBR contest here in Portugal.

Sorry, but I had to put this book aside! Being in Elaine´s head was just too depressing for me. Most of the time, I felt like saying “Come on, get over it!”, because her obsession with Cordelia was so weird. I could not relate to the childhood situations or the coming of age stage. Not my generation or my way with dealing with problems. I hope the next reader thinks differently…

Margret Atwood I recall enjoying reading while at highschool in Canada a very long time ago. As I looked through the collection of bookcrossing books and decided to hang on to The Cat who came out of the cold as if made me think of a frined's present to me being a kitten and of him in general, I held on to cat's eye as well, as it matched the topic by title andas M. Atwood is known to me as a quality author. One book to be send to my friend after reading it myself and one for me to enjoy slowly. Ntschotschi
