To read
A wonderful first novel written in the form of a letter to Osama Bin Laden as a tragic chronicle of the devastating permanent effects of an attack upon the west. A team of suicide bombers ignites a packed football stadium in London forever changing the city, its inhabitants and a grieving mother.Funny, tragic and shockingly plausible. Will keep this for a while until I find a suitable recipient
Travelling to the Netherlands with Heodeza
Durham gave me this book during a holiday down under. Looking forward to reading it here in Maastricht, Netherlands!
What a great book this was!
When Durham first told me "this is a book about an event similar to 9/11, you should read it, it's very funny" I first wondered how that could be... but she was right! Although it's not a very happy story, it was filled with heart-warming moments as well as truly funny bits, and instead of making me feel terribly sad (which you could think, knowing that this mum has lost both her husband and young boy in a terrible incident), it made me feel happy and grateful for all the people I have around me...
Will now pass it to Martin so that he can read it too.
