We dropped into the folk session at Kitchen Garden cafe last Thursday night while passing through Birmingham on our way to Plymouth. Obviously, I couldn't resist looking along the OBCZ shelves and, just as inevitably, I came away with a couple of books. This is one of them! I don't know anything about it but am always drawn to Virago's bottle green!

Well, whatever it is, it isn't a Children's Book! Some of the BookCrossing categories amaze me with their inappropriateness! LOL!
This 50s modern classic is very much a book of its time, such that I can't imagine it being written in any other decade, nor Imogen living at any other time. She's the archetypical downtrodden 50s housewife, subservient to her husband Evelyn and son Gavin, suppressing her own wishes, even her own personality, to their happiness - and getting it all horribly wrong in the process!
