The Blurb:

Thursday Next is back. This time it's personal.
For Thursday Next, literary detective without equal, life should be good. Riding high on a wave of celebrity following the safe return of kidnapped Jane Eyre, Thursday ties the know with the man she loves.
But marital bliss isn't quite as it should be. It turns out her husband of one month actually drowned thirty-eight years ago, and no one but Thursday has any memory of him at all.
Someone, somewhere is responsible.
Having barely caught her breath after The Eyre Affair, Thursday heads back into fiction in search of the truth, discovering that paper politicians, lost Shakespearean manuscripts, a flurry of near-fatal coincidences and impending Armageddon are all part of a great plan.
But whose? And why?

I read the first one, The Eyre Affair in a ring of Cinnamon-Girl's. I bought the second and third one to read and will send them out to the same ring participants if they are interested, and anybody else, of course. I currently have the fourth one, Something Rotten, which belongs to Miss-Owl. If she okays it, I will send this along in due course as well.

The ring order is:

tenneh
cyber-librarian
purpleskybaby
Alvhyttan
soleille
Dusties
Cross-patch ---> book is here 04/29/07

I expect this ring to grow as I approach people who have enjoyed the first book. I will continue to update the list!

8 out of 10

I finished reading this book today. I didn't enjoy it as much as the 1st one in the series, but it was still good. I'm looking forward to the next one as it seemed to keep leading into the next book throughout the second half of this one. Life is always an unexpected adventure when traveling with Miss Havisham from Great Expectations (one of my faves). It always got me thinking when Thursday would travel with her father ... but then time travel is quite thought provoking. I especially enjoyed the alternative world her father gave her the choice of slipping into ... it sounded a lot like ours *wink* ... that would make for an interesting story.

I really enjoyed this book, I'm still in awe at the depth of Fforde's knowlege of literature and he's one of the few people who really makes me laugh out loud. PMing the next person now.

The book is here! Thanks a lot! :)
I’m really looking forward to read this book, I loved “The Eyre Affair” so I have high hopes for this.

Just can’t understand about those bookrings/bookrays, they seem to like eachother, I have too many here at the moment and this book has to wait (if I can wait); I’m sure it will be read within a month.

This was a very enjoyable book!
It’s really amazing, anything can happen in books. :)

I am glad I have read a lot of those books that are referred to in this book, if I hadn’t read them this book wouldn’t be that fun; now I found it hilarious and I want to reread some classics. This is really a book that promotes literature.

Thanks ajsmom for sending this book out on a ring and thanks purpleskybaby for mailing it to me!

soleille wants to be skiped so I will mail this book to Dusties today, it will be in USA within a week.

I've held onto this book for too long already and I haven't even read the first in the series yet. It really shouldn't be sitting around this long, I will take it to the London Convention hoping to find a new reader for it there.

Anyway, I'm enjoying it very much - of course - and recently took it to the Jasper Fforde Convention and got the man himself to sign it "To Bookcrossers" :O)

I'll obviously update once I've finished.
