I got this book at a library book sale and am hoping to read it this winter.
Interesting read about the limitations of women in their stations in 1760's England. Mary, the 16 year old lead voice in the story goes from poverty to prostitution and then gives the reader the span of her life choices. The story starts with her at 16 in a prison so no spoiler in saying our Mary did not have many wonderful choices available to her. This is an author I will look for.
