I bought this book for the Birthday Book exchange as it did appeal to me a little. I really enjoyed this book and have already added the sequel (Magic Burns, out March 2008) to my wish list.

So,so sorry. I didn't realise I hadn't journalled this. Just as well I got round to it fairly sharpish!

This isn't really my genre, but added it to my wishlist as heard good things about it. I quite enjoyed it, although felt Kate took herslef a little seriously. It reminded me of the Anita Blake series which I gave up at about book 6!

This was a very good paranormal fantasy featuring mercenary Kate Daniels who is not intimidated by anyone - not even the leader of the Shapeshifters. While trying to solve the murder of her friend and guardian, Kate manages to earn the trust and respect of various factions. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Magic Burns.

Excellent book. A lot of action and Kate has a lot of secrets. I do like the way the Author lets you discover the Kate character. Also, lots of new twists on the vampire thread. I did see a few inconsistences in the story - but, it moved and I enjoyed it too much to even mention them.

I very much look forward to the next in the series. I picked it up in my next BookObsessed swap - I can't wait.
