Finished listening to this one over the weekend. This was such a nice story. THanks for sharing.

Sending off to EllyMae58 who won it in my book drawing over on the relay forums.

Thanks Patti!! I can't believe I got picked in your drawing - that's a first for me!

I am going to start listening to this on Monday, when I'm driving to work. Then I am going to share it with ReadingRen; since she had her baby, she rarely gets any reading time and I think an audiobook would be the perfect solution for her. (Especially since I gave her this book for her birthday a couple of years ago, and she started it, but never got to finish it.) Once she's done, I'll pass it on to another BookCrosser.

Thanks again!

This listen was not as emotionally gripping as the actual read; I didn't even cry, and I remember bawling when reading the book. Still, a lovely story, and one I enjoyed. Maybe because I had read the book, I picked up on some things I don't remember noticing before, like:

  • Why did Holly always go by her maiden name? Doesn't it seem weird that Gerry would make a travel reservation using Holly's maiden name instead of her married name?
  • In one scene, Holly goes into the diner and orders the Irish breakfast; she's in Ireland, so wouldn't it just be breakfast?
  • Early on, the characters used the non-American version "shite" (which would be appropriate for Ireland), but later in the story the very American "shit" was used. Why is that?

I enjoyed listening to the Irish accents, but the music that played between chapters was pretty awful!!!

Thank you for sharing this with me!

T received this audiobook through Paperback Swap. I enjoyed the story, although, it was an abrigdement of the original. I do not like how so many audio books are an abridgement. I feel if the author want their story told in less words they would not have written them.

I will be passing this on to Tallahassee, FL in hopes that it will be enjoyed again.
