Couldn't get into it ... maybe someone else will
Putting in my LGBT Bookbox

I certainly got into it! I practically devoured it in the course of two days :-) I could definitely see Scott & Scott's passion for romance while reading. And now I'm definitely going to track down some of their other books.

Normally, I'm not a fan of romance novels (as such, I've only read about 5, ever). I find them incredibly transparent, predictable, and formulaic. And this one was no exception. But it had a lot of things I loved that made me put up with those things I don't like. The characters were compelling and HOT, but that theme of love and romance was so wonderful to see as well. I also loved the food and creativity elements, and liked how they weren't overdone. Of course the story had more than its share of drama, too. And a villian you love to hate. I definitely related to Brad (when I wasn't relating to Chessie, Brad's faghag) but enjoyed getting to know both the main characters as they enjoyed each other and struggled along. What sealed the deal for me was the snowy cabin scene- that's absolutely my favorite romantic setting. I just about died at the perfection of that part in the book. True to formula, I'm VERY glad everything turned out all right for the boys, the way I wanted it to. But I found it a very enjoyable read from beginning to end.

I'll send this along with the LGBT bookbox again since I read it so quickly, so that others can have a chance at reading it. Though I might buy a copy for my permanent collection down the road because, yum! Sexy and sweet all in one. For what it is, it's a lovely story. *G*
