Journal Entry 1 by fotomiep from Groningen, Groningen Netherlands on Sunday, July 29, 2007
This book was given to me by my mother, who found it in a hotel in Portugal. Since I'd already read it years ago, this one was ready for immediate release.

Yay! Thank you so much, baltruma! As I have already told you I never made it through any Austen so far, but as I've studied English I better should give it another try! ;-) This one has a reasonable length at least... ;-) Sounds like a good read for Christmas! (Even though I'm not sure if I can break my... admittedly slightly sick... pattern of reading stories on slavery over the holidays...).

Journal Entry 4 by Flicki from Emden, Niedersachsen Germany on Wednesday, January 02, 2008
Still finished this last year! :-) This is a wonderful book, even though the ending is a little predictable. I guess Mr. Palmer is now my all-time favourite character in literature! ;-) All in all, thanks baltruma, for forcing me into trying once again! ;-) I have finally found out my main problem with Austen: There are too many characters in the book and they are all somehow related with each other. Even the stupid HOUSES have names. That makes it very difficult to keep track during the first 100 pages or so. This time I managed, though, by writing charts of all people taking part. As this was very helpful, I will include the list of persons with the book, so the next person might have it easier. ;-) By the way, I noticed that this one WAS the Austen I have at home... ahem... . But I bought 'Pride and Prejudice' last time I had to get my amazon-order above 20 Euros to save the shipping. :-)
