Delia Hopkins is suddenly confronted with the fact that she is not who she thought she was. It transpires that her father, who was divorced from her mother, snatched her away when she was four years old for reasons which become clearer as the plot thickens!

The novel is told through the eyes of a different person at every chapter, i.e., Delia, her father Andrew, her mother Elise, fiancé Eric, and childhood friend Fitz. All complex characters with a flawed past.

I got this through the mail today. Thanks a lot, MoJeDenUK, for sending it to me! I still have a pile of books to read before this one, but I'm already looking forward to starting on it, as J. Picoult is one of my favourite authors.

A wonderful novel! Picoult hardly ever disappoints me. The story is very emotional, of the kind you can hardly put aside once you've started.
Thanks a lot, MoJeDen, for sharing this with me.
I will take this along to the next BC meetup.

After she grew up and was a mother of a little girl herself ,Delia found out that she was someone entirely different and that her whole life is scattered around her feet.A very dynamic story but on the other hand catchingly emotional.I thoroughly enjoyed it.The book will be taken to the next BC meet up that is coming along.

Journal Entry 8 by Ninaki from Monheim am Rhein, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Saturday, November 24, 2007
Collected at yesterday's meet-up in Solingen.

Originally I did not want to take. I love crime stories, but I am not sure if this is a crime story, love story, novell or... But as buecherwurm56 said it's great (a mixture of all) I decided to read it.

edit 25.2.08:
Sorry, that's not the kind of book I appreciate. It's a novell about some people's destinies, not very exciting - for me even a bit boring.
Nevertheless, others might love it.
