Synopsis:
If you save someone's life, you become responsible for them. When Anna receives a letter from Adam, thanking her for saving his son Max's life with a bone-marrow donation, it's the first positive thing that's happened to her for a long time. Grief-stricken at the recent loss of her baby, she's failed to give life in the past. Now this four-year-old boy is alive and healthy because of her: it's a heady realisation. Anna is desperate to get to know Max, yet terrified of how responsible she feels for him. So she decides not to tell anyone about him or that she's arranged to meet his father. Soon she is immersed in a complicated double life, spending half the week with her husband, who believes her to be filming out of town, and the other half with Adam and Max. But Anna has lied to Adam about who she is. And she's lied about her marriage. And soon these lies will catch up with her.

Acquired through Freecycle.

Quite an enjoyable book but rather a thin plot. Unable to carry a child, self absorbed and selfish, Anna embarks upon a course of action which from the outset is going to end in tears. When she finally realises the mess that her actions have caused, and sets about putting things right, she starts to find true happiness.

I really enjoyed reading this book. As soon as I started it I knew I was going to like it and by the time I was half way through I just wanted to know how it ended. I did feel for Anna after losing her baby and could understand how she wanted to be part of a family. With a husband who was constantly away the opportunity was there for her double life. Having to lie to keep the two lives going what will happen when they eventually catch up with her...............

This book is owed to Camis who won it in a book swap game on BCUK Extra but I'm going to pass it on to Calalilly first and hope Camis isn't desperate. :o)

Really enjoyed this book, another book that I didn''t want to stop reading until I''d finished it and had such difficulty putting it down. I found it very emotional. Another new author for me will look out for her other books.
Sending this off to Camis who won it in a bookswap game.

I enjoyed this, although one the double life started it was just a matter of time before it was going to all unravel in a horrible fashion! I did feel for Anna though with her desire for a family.
