I'll let you folks know what I think after I read it.
I really loved this book. It contrasts mordant humor with heartbreaking tragedy, rich characters and an intricate plot.

Grabbed this at the Velocity Cafe OCBZ when I went to drop some books off. I heard of this recently, although I cannot remember where.
This was a good book that could have been a great book. I liked the general style - jumping from time to time and between the lives of seemingly unconnected characters. The problem was that it was too hard to follow. There were a lot of characters, and they were often not well anchored into the story (i.e. you didn't know who they were other than some random person) for a while. This made it hard to keep track of the characters. I often found myself well into the book and saying "Now who was that again?"
Mailing this on 1/3/07 to Ri as a surprise RABCK. Enjoy!
