Picked up at The Stand on 12th St in NYC for $1. Had read previously and thought it was a great book.

Starting a bookray for it in honor of Banned Books Week (Sept 23-30). Made it to the list this year!

From www.ila.org, "Haddon, Mark. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Doubleday. Challenged at the Galveston, Tex. County Reads Day (2006)because the book could “pollute” young minds. Source: March 2006, pp. 71–72."

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

The book was pretty good. It was not at all what i thought it would be. It was still very good. i enjoyed the math problems and what not, that was enjoyable. The only thing is that it was meant to be writen like a child had written it because it is the main character who was supposed to be writing the book. You'll have to skip over a lot of:

Mother said,"...."
And I said,"...."
Mother said,"...."
So I said,"...."
etc...

The diologue goes on like that pretty much all the way through the book. It's not so bad though because the rest of it is very interesting. i enjoyed this book and would recommend it. But only to a person i would know because it's not a normal book.

i'll be sending it off within the next few days. i can't wait to find out where the book ends up when the ray is finished!

Have Fun!

Okay, I am bad, working graves...yadda yadda.
About done with this ray and have PM'd AgathaMars for addy in spirit of book amnesty. It was the kick in the pants I needed to get motivated and get this ray moving!

Apart from the math problems, is an interesting read. Not at all what I expected. Alot of stranger dialogue, like "Mother and Mr. Shears were doing sex."

Yes! The book did arrive, despite the earlier difficulties. Thanks RebelPadawan. and Twinkpuddin for the offer of the book.

This looks like it will be a very quick read for me, so I should be able to move this on by Mid-April or a little bit earlier.

Journal Entry 9 by AgathaMars from Arden Hills, Minnesota USA on Wednesday, April 4, 2007
This was an interesting insight on an autistic (asperger) persons mind and how Christopher coped.

I enjoyed the mystery of who killed the dog and was saddened by the answer.

Christopher's insight into the math problems is phenomenal, I wish I was that good...although sometimes I still have trouble coping with adding & subtracting. Only when working with numbers can simple problems make you scratch your head.

I may even recommend this book to my mom.
