Pretty compulsive reading. The hero,a war reporter photographer,returns from Afganistan to find that his high flying sister,the owner and editor of a fashionable gossip and fashion mag is dead.

The twist is that she has left the mag to him to run. He will soon find that the magazine world is deadlier than a war zone.

Picked this off the bookshelf at the OBCZ during the halloween meetup. I'm not sure about the storyline but the cover looks good. I know one shouldn't judge a book but we'll see!

I took a couple of goes to get into this one but once I did I was glad I persisted. It's a fast-moving thriller whose main character is dead to begin with (in the tradition of A Christmas Carol!), and you can't help liking Max for wanting to keep his sister's business going for her son. There are some real twists and I enjoyed it even though I have no interest at all in celebrity/fashion magazines which has to say something about the tension involved in the plot.
