FROM THE BACK:
"What would you do for the friend who broke your heart? Best friends Kamryn Matika and Adele Brannon thought nothing could come between them - until Adele did the unthinkable and slept with Kamryn's fiance, Nate. Worse still, she got pregnant and had his child. When Kamryn discovered the truth about their betrayal she vowed never to see any of them again. Two years later, Kamryn receives a letter from Adele asking her to visit her in hospital. Adele is dying and begs Kamryn to adopt her daughter, Tegan. With a great job and a hectic social life, the last thing Kamryn needs is a five year old to disrupt things. Especially not one who reminds her of Nate. But with no one else to take care of Tegan and Adele fading fast, does she have any other choice? So begins a difficult journey that leads Kamryn towards forgiveness, love, responsibility and, ultimately, a better understanding of herself. "

Thank you Froggirlwendy, I received this book in the mail today (along with 2 others). I can't wait to start reading it.
What a great book, even if it was a bit predictable in parts, the ending caught me a bit off guard though, not what I thought was going to happen.
Thanks for sharing this book froggirlwendy. I am sorry it has taken me so long to finish it and pass it on. It is now on its way to catsalive.

Thanks for sending the book, akashafamily, & also for the surprise - squashed flat but TASTY!
It certainly was predictable but quite nice with it, even though I spent most of the time wanting to grab Kamryn by the lapels & shake her until her teeth rattled. Do people really go through life avoiding every possible issue that might make them sad, or cry, or lose their stoic upper lip? As if it's not hard enough without stifling your own emotions all the time - sometimes, where appropriate, but not all the time. As I said, I thought the story quite nice but I only like Tegan & Adele, the other characters irritated me almost constantly.
Thanks, fgw. I'll send this off to viola7 ASAP.

Posted to viola7 today.
This looks like my kind of book and just the thing to take my mind off family crises.
This was harrowing at first. However, I persevered and it was worth it, because this is an interesting and reasonably well-written story about a woman's struggles with bringing up an adopted child. I also liked the fact that I didn't know which man the heroine would end up with until the end!
Found this at home when I returned from my holiday. I have been really looking forward to this. Thanks for sharing.
I dont know if its the day in bed with a raging flu or what but I dont think I have sooked over a book so much for a long time. What a beautifully told story. I just wanted to wrap Ryn up in my arms so many times and say there there its going to be ok. What a rough journey but with a beautiful ending.
Thank you so much for sharing this book with me. It has really touched me.
Posting back to froggirlwendy as soon as I have her address.
