SOME SPOILERS!! Shanna, a mild-mannered dentist in the witness-protection program is saved by a gorgeous vampire when the mob finds out where she is hiding. Naturally, they fall in love, but the road to true love isn't easy--we find out her dad is a CIA operative with a program called Stake Out whose mission it is to search out and kill all vampires. Shanna's vampire hunk, Roman, is also plagued by a 500+ year old animosity with the evil Russian vampire. Great characters and an interesting (if somewhat predictable) plot. I did like the thriller aspect of the book, it intertwined nicely with the horror aspect. If there weren't vampires involved, it would have read like a Ridley Pearson novel! I thought Shanna's transformation was a little quick, and I didn't buy her character in the final chapter (you'll know what I mean after you read the book). All in all--it was an excellent read! I'll be sending it to Agnesxnitt next!

Again, I can't remember signing up for this one - and can't think why I did! Oh well, thanks for inclusion on this one Ladiibug and to Piggydiva for the lovely postcard - in the words of the Who you must be able to see for 'miles and miles and miles and miles and miles'! Kinda like Cambridgeshire - nothing to stop the wind from Russia!

Thanks for the book, I shall put it at the top of my pile to read next. Nearly finished the current read so shouldn't be long! Never been to Godmanchester, even though it's not really that far away. Plus, I do like a good vampire story!

I really enjoyed reading this. Not quite the dark Anne Rice type of vampire but still suave enough to tempt me! I just hope the next person enjoys it just as much. Sending it on its way to sunlightbub in Port Sunlight.

I liked the beginning of this but got bored to death in the middle so skimmed the rest. Perhaps I've read too many vampy books this year, but it didn't do it for me..particularly the story line about her father..Thanks for sharing and sending on though xxxxxxxxxxxx Off to Teuffi tomorrow

I have to say I hadn't realised this was a romance, or else I probably wouldn't have signed up for this ring but I have to admit that I did enjoy this read! A very light and quite funny book, hope the next person will enjoy it too!

The book arrived on Friday already, but I didn't have much time then to officially catch the book :-) Thanks a lot for sending it, sweetdaisy and a happy new year to you, too. Thanks for sharing, ladiibug! Happy new year! P.S.: That should read "caught in Seckmauern" not "caught in Frankfurt" as I got the book when I was here at my parents ;-)

I finished this book earlier today and I really enjoyed this book. I had not suspected to finish it quite that fast, so I only asked for the next person's address today, but I hope to be able to send it on later this week. I enjoyed the plot line, especially because there were some new-to-me ideas :-) I hope to read more by Kerrelyn Sparks in the future.

Journal Entry 20 by angelbird72 from Newcastle, New South Wales Australia on Saturday, November 03, 2007
Okay, this book arrived in the post yesterday. I decided, in celebration of finishing the Extension English exam that morning, horrific as it may have been (blasted postmodernism!), and in celebration of the fact that I never ever have to do high school english ever ever ever again, this would be the perfect book to read. So I did. And I was right. Whilst I will admit that it's not exactly the most influential novel of the century, and there were a few niggling little things that annoyed me as I read, it was still quite an enjoyable book. It worked out as about an 8.5 for me, but I've rounded it up to a nine. I'm going to ask for the next address, but I still have one exam to go, so I'm not tempting myself with a trip to the post office until that it over and done with. Thanks for sharing!

Journal Entry 22 by bargainqueen from North Nowra, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, December 20, 2007
A thoroughly enjoyable read I think. I liked the characters, and thought the storyline was easy and fairly good. However if I read the words "God's Blood" even one more time I will be ready to scream! How many times can an author repeat something a vampire is thinking. That sucked! An 8/10 is pretty good though. I will hop onto the Club VLAD yahpp group and see if there are any takers to continue this ray.

This book was lots of fun. I think the different take on Vampires was a cool idea. I *really* liked "Blood Lite" :D It's the first time I read something by this author and will probably look into her other books now. I have red-dianthus' addy and will mail this out tomorrow. :) (finished) ETA: (april 08) TRAVELLING to red-dianthus!

The Pony Express was said to have made deliveries from Missouri to Nevada in 14 days...so why does it take the Post Office 2 months to deliver one small book? [sigh]
