In hardcover for the first time, here is the novel that started it all--the first book in Robb's number-one "New York Times" bestselling In Death series, featuring New York City homicide detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Roarke
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really like the futuristic setting. Dallas and Roarke are quite an unforgettable couple. The tiny little twist at the end, I never saw coming. Usually I see them coming, must be my advancing age :) Each of the characters were interesting an unique. Can't wait to read the next in the series
My turn to read this one!
So stars the first book in a billion book series! I have to be honest, I was kind of hoping I wasn't going to enjoy this book so that I wouldn't have to read the next 20 or so books in the series. But, I did enjoy it, so now I'm stuck in a huge series! Thankfully I started this at book one (for once!). Naked in Death is a mystery starring Eve Dallas, a tourmented cop with so many issues from her past it's unbelievable. The book takes place in 2050 or something like that, so it's a somewhat futuristic setting. Robb keeps throwing in little bits about what she predicts the future to be like, which is quite interesting. I noticed she hinted at the fact that Quebec had seperated from Canada (let's hope that never happens).
Dallas sets out to find a serial killers of prostitutes (which is now a legal trade) and runs into Roarke, a smooth-operating billionaire. They, of course, get it on. But there was just absolutely no chemistry for me between the two of them. In comparison to other detectives in other books, it was completely lacking chemistry. Hopefully they kick it up a notch in the next book.
The mystery itself was pretty good. I had a hunch on who had done it, but when they arrested someone else for it, I thought that I was just completely wrong! Turns out I wasn't, as I later found out! Overall, not a bad book. I'll keep reading the series until I get tired of it.

This book is back with me. I am reserving the series for a special friend
Mailed today to my special friend Dodau who is going to read the series too. This should be loads of fun
Arrived today from the nicest person in Canada. First of a series she is sending me and it look really good.
This finally made it to the top of Mount TBR, and about time too. I''ve been dying to read this for ages and it was killing me, looking at it creeping along the shelf. But it was worth the wait. I loved it from the first page to the last and it was a struggle to put it down long enough to do other things. Like feed the kids or do the housework. I am so glad that Aceofhearts sent me this and I''m really looking forward to numbers two and three that are also creeping their way along the shelf.
Note to Aceofhearts I picked up Holiday in Death at a charity shop last week so save the postage on that one. But read the others as fast as you can please. Again thanks for sending these to me and I plan to let my aunt try them next.
