Journal Entry 1 by guinaveve from Mason, Ohio USA on Sunday, August 13, 2006
Here is what my son had to say about this- "One day a boy who lived in the hills found a dog and named him Shiloh. He made a pen and kept him in it and sometimes he let him out. He fed him leftovers to eat. One day when the boy was going to bed some bigger dogs came and hurt him badly. I really liked this book a lot." This is a great book.

Journal Entry 3 by Adia415 from Cleves, Ohio USA on Sunday, September 10, 2006
This was one of the few books left on the table at the end of the Imago event. I'm actually in the process of reading a lot of middle school level books in order to start a collection for my own classroom next year. I'd love to give this a read since I know it's a very popular book with some of the younger middle schoolers.

Journal Entry 4 by Adia415 from Cleves, Ohio USA on Tuesday, February 13, 2007
I read this today and thought it was a great story for young readers. I'm going to transfer it to my classroom shelf for the time being so that my students have access to it for awhile.

Journal Entry 5 by TheClassShelf from Cincinnati, Ohio USA on Tuesday, February 13, 2007
From the back cover: "When Marty Preston comes across a young beagle in the hills behind his home, it's love at first sight--and also big trouble. It turns out the dog, which Marty names Shiloh, belongs to Judd Travers, who drinks too much and has a gun--and abuses his dogs. So when Shiloh runs away from Judd to Marty, Marty just has to hide him and protect him from Judd. But Marty's secret becomes too big for him to keep to himself, and it exposes his entire family to Judd's anger. How far will Marty have to go to make Shiloh his?" The book is currently available to read.
