Journal Entry 1 by swan-scot from Inverness, Scotland United Kingdom on Tuesday, December 31, 2002
A good read - although not as good as the Fried Green Tomatoes (which I'm not ready to let go of yet). From back cover: "Fannie flagg takes us on a journey to the South that only Southerners know, to a time when 'Blue Velvet' was played at the Senior Prom, and into the life of Daisy Fat Harper, a sassy, truth-telling herorine who just can't stay out of trouble. What's more she tells us everything - from what (or who) made her Daddy and Momma split up to what is really stashed in the freezer of the family's malt shop. Daisy Fay is coming of age in the Gulf Coast's Shell Beach, which is The End of The Road of the South, but a dandy place to meet the locals like hard-drinking Jimmy Snow. former debutante Mrs Dot and Diasy's own Daddy. They're all part of the fun that takes us down home, back ot the '50's and into the best story east of Texas."

Journal Entry 2 by swan-scot at on Monday, April 14, 2003
Released on Monday, April 14, 2003 at Made in Scotland shop, Station Road in Beauly, Highlands Scotland. Left on the couch in the lobby of the Ladies. The shop seemed quite busy this morning, with the Easter holidays visitors, so hopefully someone will find a little extra, unexpected Highland hospitality.

Journal Entry 3 by Kath-Irvine from Inverness, Scotland United Kingdom on Friday, August 15, 2003
I'm delighted I found this book. I'm sorry to have taken so long to get round to finishing it. I'm shocked to see it was way back in April. I hope it's previous owner hasn't given up hope of ever hearing of it again. As a writer, I really appreciated Fanny Flagg's style and her ability to create, sustain and build characters. Daisy Fay is now one of my favourite characters in all literature. I'm off to send Daisy Fay on her journey by leaving her in Hootenanny's, Inverness....a cool place full of funky people where I'm sure she'll find an appreciative home.

Journal Entry 4 by Keza from Edinburgh, Scotland United Kingdom on Tuesday, August 19, 2003
Excellent book although one I wouldn't have chosen myself making it even more fun to read! Picked up the book in the pub 'Hootenannys' in Inverness which was great because I was there on my own and needed something to read! The book has now sailed over the ocean and lies in an arts centre 'An Lanntair' in Stornoway in the Western Isles of Scotland...

Journal Entry 6 by daftcow from Vancouver, British Columbia Canada on Tuesday, August 26, 2003
This book was found when we were visiting my parents on Lewis last week. It was left in the coffee shop of the Town Hall in Stornaway. It was quite a coincidence as we had just seen a story about Book Crossing on the news, and had thought it was a fabulous thing to do! Less than 24 hours later, whaddya know? there was a book in front of us! We brought it with us to Vancouver and I read it on the plane over here. I have a few pages to go and then I will pass it on. All I know about the author, Fannie Flagg, is that she wrote Fried Green Tomatoes, but I hadn't read the book. I have really enjoyed this one, which is quite charming . You find yourself rooting for the heroine, Daisy May, very early on, as she tells her story growing up in the 50s with little or no parental control.
