One of my all-time favorite Christie mysteries. This book was made into several movies and goes by a couple of different titles: Ten Little Indians for one. Highly recommend!

Considered the best mystery novel ever written by many readers, And Then There Were None is the story of 10 strangers, each lured to Indian Island by a mysterious host. Once his guests have arrived, the host accuses each person of murder. Unable to leave the island, the guests begin to share their darkest secrets--until they begin to die.

Another bookring I *completely* forgotten about signing up for, but yay! Another chance to re-read this AC classic. I adore her work and look forward to reading this again - it's been a while since I last was creeped out as the victims mount up on Soldier Island....
Thanks for the add Perryfran - I owe you one of my handmade cards so please PM me to let me know what kid of card you'd like :)

Journal Entry 9 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Saturday, January 20, 2007
A Christie Classic - the woman was inspired by the gods! I had read this positively years ago, but I couldn't remember for the life of me (or any of the victims) who did pick off the 10 inhabitants of Soldier Island, one by one in various nasty and inventive ways. It's just too creepy for words, and I certainly was glad to read it in a bright office with people about, though I did keep checking over my shoulder in case the murderer lay in wait behind me holding a sharp knife!
PM'd Bilbi, she asked to be skipped on this one, so have PM'd Archai for her address and will be posting next Saturday (doh! away for a week on a pesky course), address receipt allowing.
Thanks for hosting this ring Perryfran, I really enjoyed the re-read :)
26/01/07 - no reply from Archai, so molekilby Pm'd!

RELEASE NOTES:

Posted off to molekilby - finally!
Sorry for delay, people kept dropping out of this one and then I was away for a week so couldn't post.
Away you go book!

An excellent mystery. Too often Christie is only associated with Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot, forgetting that she also wrote many stand alone mysteries. As with many of her books I feel the need to re-read and track it from the murderer's perspective and view the mis-direction of the author. This particular tome reminded me so much of J B Priestley's "An Inspector Calls".

Thanks again to perryfran for sharing, have PM'd the next person for their details so i can post it off to them. Sent 13th February.

i had read this book many years ago as a malayalam translation. this is my second read, and so i knew who was the murderer and so it was devoid of much suspense. but still reading agatha christie is a wonderful experience in itself:)

ten people are gathered in a house on a lonely island. but their host was nowhere to be seen. soon, each of them was reminded of some crime they had committed in the past and managed to escape punishment by law in some way or other by a gramaphone record. they were all to be murdered, one by one. after three mysterious deaths, they come to the conclusion that the murderer was one among them, since by then they were sure that they were the only people in the island which was cut off from any sort of transportation or communication from the mainland. but who was it? that was the terrible question, and they start suspecting one another. the only people not to be suspected were unfortunately the ones already dead..
a clever thriller!

pm'ed kihli for the address.

Journal Entry 15 by harriscochin from Dubai, Dubai United Arab Emirates on Saturday, March 10, 2007

The book arrived this afternoon. I'm quite excited to read it, but I'll have to finish the other two I'm reading first.

Thanks to Perryfran, and to Kihli for sending it from Greece.

Journal Entry 20 by Sugaryfun from Brisbane, Queensland Australia on Tuesday, April 3, 2007
This one was truly gripping. I was supposed to be writing an essay this afternoon, but I couldn't resist finishing it off, and the last few chapters went really quickly.

I will see about finding a new home for the book sooner or later. For now, I should get back my studies!
