I bought this in a box of books. I'm pretty sure I have to read it before I release it. Insight into my cats' minds sounds wonderful! I figure they must be thinking more than "feed me" and "pet me".
I was disappointed by this book, at least the parts I made it through. The author seems to think he can understand the inner thoughts of cats by "adopting" several of them and living with them a few months. As I read, I kept thinking he had things totally wrong. Maybe he should try living with them 15 years (or so) and then try again. The author upset me early in the book when he suggested that he had a habit of moving to new countries and leaving his pets behind. To me this was akin to telling your kids, "Sorry, I've changed my mind about the direction my life is going, and I'm going to leave you with the neighbors." Anyway, he never won me back.
