Adding to Wish List Book Box hosted by itpdx
I am going to let this book continue it's travels with the Wish List Book Box. I hope it will find it's travels fun.
I chose this book from itpdx's wish list bookbox. I have never read anything by this author, but this sounds like a book that I would enjoy reading.
I really hoped that I would enjoy this book, but I just couldn't get into it. I tried to read it on several different occasions.

RABCK to MyssCyn, who has this book on her wishlist. I hope you enjoy this one!
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to move this one along after trying to read it. I have been saving this book for a Top 100 Bookbox that I signed up for, but the bookbox has apparently been stalled by Busyangel since early November.

ladybug74 thank you so much for this book. I've wanted to read it since I read Anansis Boys by the same author.
I appreciate your kindness.
I appreciate your kindness.
Finally read the last half of this book this morning and prompted by a thread in Book Talk I am offering as a ray.
I liked the 1st half then stalled for quite a while.
It was a pretty good read once I finally picked it up again.
Sending to Easterngirl who will then pass it on to teenie-k
teenie then agrees to ray -it-forward again.

Thank you for this wishlist book, Easterngirl. The birthday box was great - I love all the Christmas goodies. I hope you are feeling better and getting some quality reading time in. :-)
This was an intriguing mix of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz meets Alice in Wonderland. Richard Mayhew is living a quietly ordinary life when he rescues a girl and becomes a part of London Below, a wild, strange place that has all sorts of Beasts and Creatures. He becomes embroiled in Door's, the girl he rescued, quest. Along the way, there are others helping them along the way, a woman named Hunter and the marquis de Carabas foremost among them. I had two small criticisms - the quest seemed to bog down in the middle of the story; I seemed to not 'get' all the humor, perhaps because I'm not intimately familiar with London. Other than that, it was a lot of fun.
Quotes to remember:
When one tastes it...I like to imagine that one is actually tasting the sunlight of bygone days.
So the day became one of waiting, which was, he knew, a sin: moments were to be experienced; waiting was a sin against both the time that was still to come and the moments one was currently disregarding.

Sending in the wishlist tag game. Enjoy!
