Journal Entry 3 by rebel-padawan from Redlake, Minnesota USA on Tuesday, December 05, 2006
Initial thoughts on Bite as a whole. I had never read any Anita Blake story before this book, and found it hard to relate to her character until the very end of the story when I was left wanting more than it had offered. Some of the other stories were less memorable than others. There were two that stuck out to me. The first I can't recall the name of off the top of my head, but it involves a science guy and a vampire, an evil blood controlled mafia, and synthetic blood. And Galahad. Now there is a story! But I won't spoil that one for anyone. It's quite a read altogether. Not bad for something I picked off a sale pile at random!

Journal Entry 7 by thegoaliegirl from Spokane, Washington USA on Friday, February 09, 2007
Fun read. I've only read the Anita Blake books. Think I might actually be at the right place in the series for the book... not sure where I'm at but it all made sense... so that was good. Was really nice to see the other writing styles of the other Vamp writes. May have to try to find some books by some of the others now. Thanks for sharing with me! Book went out to legbamel today (media mail). Hope it gets there soon!

Journal Entry 8 by legbamel from Fargo, North Dakota USA on Saturday, February 17, 2007
This one showed up last night and I started it this morning. I have to say that I really disliked the Anita Blake story, as it showcased everything that went wrong with the series - the whole thing was about her inability to resist sex rather than her amazing butt-kicking. She didn't even do anything besides make a couple of phone calls! I know the point of the book is the erotic side of vampire chick-lit, but come . The one with Betsy from the Undead and... series was quite a bit better than Undead and Unemployed, probably because she was a minor character. The story line was well done and I liked the characters. I did enjoy the last two stories. Maybe it was because the characters were better-developed as they were much longer. The first few were so abrupt - here are the characters, and now they are in bed. And now they are saying that they love each other. The end. [Bleh] I need something a little more fulfilling! LOL
