Woo Hoo! I found this wishlist book in the Cancer Research shop for 60p. I think myself really lucky to have found it among the Mills & Boons! lol
From the cover:
Walking through new-fallen snow in the forest near their home, 12 year old Nicky Dillon and her father come upon something inconceivable: there, in the pristine winter scene, an abandoned infant wails, it's survival made possible only by the coincidence of their having chosen this path for their evening stroll.
Barnes & Noble
Walking in the snow near their New Hampshire home, a father and daughter come upon an abandoned infant, wrapped in a bloody towel. For the father, this chance discovery reopens a wound: Two years before, he had lost his wife and toddler daughter in a car crash. Now the chance finding of the baby places him on a winding path toward healing.

Journal Entry 3 by BabyFlylady from Driffield, East Yorkshire United Kingdom on Sunday, August 6, 2006
I started this yesterday and have finished it this evening. I enjoyed it but felt the end was a bit flat. I would have liked to have followed the characters a bit longer and see them through to happier times.
Snaggy and I have a difference of opinion on this one. She cried her eyes out and I (who normally blubs at the drop off a hat) was left a little cold by it!! Whereas Picoult's "My Sister's Keeper" caused me to weep buckets and Snaggy didn't!! Let's see what everyone else thinks! lol
Have PMed FairyDust for an address and will send it on it's travels as soon as I hear from her.

Recieved today from BabyFlyLady. Thanks so much! I'll get started as soon as I finish the book I'm reading at the moment - should be in the next couple of days.
Finished! I have to say, this book is a lot shorter than I was expecting. I was quite happily reading along thinking I had a while to go 'til the end but then I find it's finished and the extra pages at the back are a chapter of another Anita Shreve book! Halfway through the book I found I couldn't stop reading so maybe that's another reason it seemed so short?!
Light On Snow wasn't at all how I expected it to be. I expected it to be written in the style of the other Anita Shreve book I've read (Fortune's Rocks) but it's nothing like that at all. I actually found it to be a bit like a Jodi Picoult book. It was a very easy read and I found it a good look at grief and what makes us bond to certain people. I also liked the way it made you think that all actions have a consequence. The only thing I would say is I was a little disappointed that it didn't delve a little further in to things. It seems to stay pretty much on the surface but I think that may be because we're seeing things only from one character's perspective.
An interesting book and like I say, I found it hard to put down as I got into it!
I'll pm the next person along and get it sent off as soon as I get an address.

Arrived today. I'm actually without a book at the moment so I will start this straight away.
Sorry for not journalling earlier, I have just come back from holiday and I remembered in the car on the way to Scotland that I had fogotten to journal and post the book - not helpful of my brain.
I have mixed opinions of this book. Previously I have either loved or really disliked Anita Shreve books and the last few I read were more on towards dislike, so I was dubious about starting this book thinking it was going to be that way as well. However I was surprised to find it was an easy and enjoyable read and I completed it within two days and I for the first half of the book I felt that Anita Shreve was back on form. Unfortunately there were aspects of the book I didn't like which accounts for my neutral rating. I didn't bond with any of the characters and the ending was such a none event I wondered why I had bothered spending the time reading the story.
Two weeks after finishing the book, I still don't know whether I liked it or not, but that is an interesting outcome in itself. Thank you for the opportunity to read it.
The book is in my locker at work already to be posted so that is my plan for Monday.

Definitely not going to believe this one, but I just received this book in today's mail. It arrived in fine shape and have already pm'ed the next person in line for their address.
Thank you for sharing and at least the book was not completely lost as it did finally make it here after 5 months.
4/18/2007 Finished reading today. A very light easy to read story that kept my attention from the first page. Mailing out to the next reader as soon as I have her address. Enjoy it.

Thank you Sarahbear for sending this bookbag. I am rather speechless.
I enjoyed reading it. The story is really touching and I liked the characters. Usually not my kind of book, but well worth reading.
