Wow, this book was travelling for quite a while. I found it today in a secondhand-bookstore (Büchertisch at Gneisenaustraße) in Berlin and the first thing I saw was the ballycumber at the back and what a surprise: this is actually one of the books on my wishlist I really, really wanted to read!
Made my day and now it´s back on Bookcrossing.
Thank you for releasing it! :)

"Jack St. Bride was once a beloved teacher at a private girl's school - until a student's crush sparked a powder keg of accusation and robbed him of his career and reputation. After a devastatingly public ordeal that left him with an eightmonth jail sentence and no job, Jack resolves to pick up the pieces of his life. He takes a job washing dishes at Addie Peabody's diner in the quiet New England village of Salem Falls and slowly starts to form a relationship with her.
But a quartet of teenage girls harbours dark secrets - and they maliciously target Jack with a shattering allegation. Now, at the centre of modern-day witch hunt, Jack is forced once again to proclaim his innocence: to a town searching for answers, to a justice system where truth becomes a slippery concept written in shades of grey, and the woman who has come to love him."

22. February, 2015: What I like about her books are that you really feel how she struggles to show the different sides of a topic. Here we have the man wrongly accused of rape, but there are also rape victims as important persons in the book and their struggle is not taken lightly.
With having so many different persons with different stories and motivations it sometimes felt like the story dragged a bit, especially when Jack got arrested at circa half of the book already, but I never felt like stopping the book there.
I would have missed some nice twists, although the biggest (and most dramatic) one was hinted during the book quite a lot.
Most of all I liked how many of the seemingly unimportant parts of the story where used later.
After all I enjoyed reading this quite enthralling novel very much and it definitely won't be forgotten that soon.
