My Uncle sent me this book for release, and I bought another copy at a garage sale, so I think I'll start a BookRay(U.S.) with this one.

226 pages

From the inside cover: "Despite his overwhelming fear of interacting with people, Christopher, a mathematically gifted, autistic fifteen-year-old boy, decides to investigate the murder of a neighbor's dog and uncovers secret information about his mother."

I really liked this book, I thought it was an excellent story about a boys adventure in solving crime. The author wrote the character extremely well and must have a good understanding inside the mind of a person with autisim. I'm not even sure whether the author is autistic himself, the way that the book is written it's hard to tell. I would recommend this book to others.

OK...I did NOT expect to get through this book as fast as I did. It was a super quick read. It is WONDERFUL!!! This is the story of an autistic and OCD teen who starts out trying to solve a murder mystery. Instead, he ends up making a journey of a lifetime and at the same time, learns something new about himself. This book is truly moving and sweet. I read it in an afternoon as I was completely drawn into the story. I would highly recommend this book. While it isn't your "ordinary, typical novel," it is a WONDERFUL read.

I have PMd star11-80 so I can send it on its next journey.

I was a little disappointed by this book. It was moderately cute, but nothing to really write home about. A quick read, it would have been more enjoyable to me without all the pictures and math equations, etc. Sending to the next person on the list.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time arrived safely in Virginia!

This book was different from what I usually like to read. While I can't say I really liked the book that has more to do with personal taste. It was worth reading though because I learned a lot about autistic people. Now I understand why they can have screaming fits or certain distaste for colors. There were certain ways in that I could relate to Christopher too. One is that I also don't like the different food on my plate touching each other!

I really enjoyed reading this story because when I was in my teens I was a camp councilor for special needs kids, ages 3-5, and it was very difficult to relate to them without any experience at that time. Now, I have more knowledge and experience and really could relate to many parts of the story. And it was a great story! Thanks, Chevygoddess!

This was a great book, both as a story of a young autistic teen and as an Oliver Sacks-like analysis of what it feels like to be autistic. I found many interesting insights into how autistic people are different, and alike, to 'normal' people. Christopher's introspections on what makes something a good day and how rules affect the world were quite good. I also really enjoyed the book's presentation with the inserted images and first-person narration. I definitely reccomend this book, although it's a quick and probably one-time read.

Handed this book to Msreed.
